Last week, students in Mr. Ferguson's Ceramics II class spent the week demonstrating the Potter's Wheel to Miss Bec's 4th grade art students. Our #GreenonKnights high school students loved spending the time showing the 4th graders what the wheel is all about and the 4th graders were amazed and excited to one day get the chance to get on the wheel.

Happy Monday! Let’s #MondayMingle with Mrs. Baughn, who has been with Greenon Local for 26 years! Name: Terri Baughn Position: 7th grade ELA teacher Years with Greenon Local: 26 years 🖤❤ What is your favorite thing(s) about working at Greenon? The best part about Greenon is the students and the colleagues I have the pleasure to work with daily. Each day is a new experience, and I love seeing how staff, students, parents, and community work together to ensure quality learning experiences, both within and outside the classroom, to ensure success for all of our students. 🎓 What would your teacher or principal have said about YOU on a report card? Teachers and principals would have commented that as a student, I was hard-working, determined, and always willing to help anyone at any time. 📚 What was your favorite book as a child? I was an avid reader; I had many favorites. I especially liked The Mouse and the Motorcycle, the Bobsey Twins, and The Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew mysteries series. 🍎 What was your favorite school lunch? I loved (and still do) the tomato soup and grilled cheese, and of course the square pizza. ✏ What was/is your favorite school supply? I love shopping for school supplies of all kinds, but my favorites are probably colored paper and post-it notes.

Ms. Brewer’s advanced biology students took an adventure into the work of biotechnology and genetically modified bacteria in their classroom 🦠 The #GreenonKnights students took ordinary E. coli and transformed it . E.coli does not generally produce proteins to make it glow, but this experiment allowed students to add genes that coded for a protein that glows in black light! Science is fun!
