Greenon Local Schools, in coordination with the Knights PTO, recently hosted a Career Day, providing an invaluable opportunity for students in grades 7-12 to explore over 35 diverse career paths. The event featured over 40 professionals from various fields, including electricians, small business owners, performers from the arts industry, physical therapists, weather specialists, plumbers, engineers, and more. Of the over speakers, 19 were Greenon Knights alums!
The aim of Career Day at Greenon is to expose students to a wide array of professions, offering a look into the real-life experiences of individuals in different careers and trades. Students were given the chance to preselect fields of interest and participate in four sessions throughout the morning.
Greenon’s superintendent, Darrin Knapke, expressed gratitude towards the speakers and the Knights PTO and emphasized the importance of such events in shaping the future of the students. "Career Day is an essential platform for our students to gain insights into various professions, helping them make informed decisions about their future. We extend our heartfelt thanks to each speaker for taking time to speak with our students and the Knights PTO for their efforts in making this event a success."
