Greenon's music department has been busy with activity over the past few weeks, showcasing students' incredible talents! Three outstanding musicians took their skills beyond the local stage during the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend.
Avery and Zach, two music department members, embarked on a journey to Texas to audition for the Cavaliers Drum Corps. Meanwhile, Charlotte, another Greenon musician, had a rare opportunity. She had the privilege of working with the renowned composer John Mackey at the Tri-State Band Symposium at Northern Kentucky University.
The musical journey continued as high school band and choir members from Greenon competed in the Ohio Music Education Association District 12 Solo and Ensemble Contest at Vandalia Butler High School. The results were impressive, with Greenon students earning numerous Superior and Excellent ratings, a testament to their hard work and dedication to their craft.
The pep band took center stage alongside the Wright State Pep Band on Saturday night. The collaborative performance cheered the Raiders to a 95-81 victory over Milwaukee. The Greenon pep band showcased their musical talents and ability to elevate the audience's spirit!
